Our Atlanta SOP Chapter outlined some goals and objectives for getting our chapter back in action this coming year and one of our goals was to provide help and support to our local AHEPA chapter in anyway possible. Along with the help of Brother Pete Nassos, our chapter volunteered to assist in a Herobox event held at our church. Herobox is a non-profit organization that was founded in order to provide supplies and needs for our troops fighting over seas that can be sent from anyone here in the United States.

Our Sons Chapter joined a crowd of AHEPAns, Daughters, Maids, in our church hall to provide a small morale boost to our troops over seas. Being the young, strong, manly men that we are, we were placed in charge of building all the boxes and making sure that they were packed up and taped correctly and ready to be shipped on their long treck across the world.

For the duration of this event, there was a good lively spirit running throughout the group because of the great deed we felt we were doing for these hard working men and women who fight for us, who deserve all the support we can give them. After all the boxes were packed up and ready to be sent out, we carried all the boxes out into the parking lot and loaded them into the truck. From there, they would be sent on their way to our troops. Afterwards we were given a small speech by the local sponsor and worker from the Herobox organization and he handed out a small wristband with the words "HEROBOX" written on them. I still wear this band today as well as many of the other Sons because of the great amount of respect I have for an organization that does so much to help our troops over seas, and I encourage everyone to go to their website (www.herobox.org) read up on their organization, and maybe even make a donation.

And what else could be better after a good morning of hard work than a good lunch? Along with the Maids, we made our way over to the local Chili's and threw down some food and had some laughs to continue our great day. Proud to be a Son!
