I am writing this on behalf of our National Project, helping underprivileged Greek families across America. The major fundraiser for it will be through our 50/50 National Raffle.

The Supreme Lodges of the Sons and Maids have chosen to hold a joint National Project for the 2011-2012 year. With our partnership, we have the ability to cover more ground, increase awareness and witness fundraising we haven’t seen in recent years past.

Former Waterbury, CT Mayor, the Honorable George P. Harlamon was honored for his past service to the Holy Trinity Community and to the city of Waterbury at the 4th annual Sons of Pericles Hall of Fame dinner at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Waterbury, CT on March 26, 2011. At the dinner Mr. Harlamon was made an honorary member of the Sons of Pericles and was presented with a lifetime Sons of Pericles pin by Rick Pecka, Past Supreme President, SOP.

On March 25th, I had the honor of representing the Sons of Pericles at the Greek Embassy in Washington DC and at The White House for their annual Greek Independence Day events. At the Embassy, I met Ambassador of Greece to the U.S., Vassilis Kaskarelis, and various other officials from the Embassy, Greece, and Cyprus.

SOP News Release - Miami Convention Update

Brothers,

The Convention is just around the corner and we are excited to see each and every one of you in Miami! The Sons of Pericles Supreme Lodge has been working hard to make Miami a fun and productive convention. From a mixer and date auction (hosted by the Maids of Athena) to softball and basketball games and lots of beach time in between, there will be something for Sons and Maids of all ages.

Ypsilanti 22 Bean Bags Tournament

Ypsilanti Chapter # 22 hosted a Bean Bags Tournament on the day of February 26, 2011. The tournament consisted of a double elimination, in which the top three teams were rewarded. There were a total of twenty teams that participated in the tournament and a total of seventy people attended our event.
