What is the Membership and the Goals of the Sons of Pericles?

The age of the members of the Sons of Pericles is between 14 and 27. In order to start a Chapter, you must be sponsored by a local AHEPA Chapter. The minimum number of members needed to start a Chapter is 8, although areas with less than 8 members can become “Sons-at-Large.” North America has been divided into 25 Districts. In order to be considered an active District, there must be at least 3 paid/active Sons Chapters. The total number of members over the years has hovered around the 1500 mark. In 1989, the Sons of Pericles reached 2,248 members, the highest total since World War II. The Goals of the Organization are fairly simple: to promote Hellenism, as well as to promote Philanthropy, Civic Responsibility, Athletics, and Education and Individual Excelence.
