Dearest Brothers and Sisters,

As the Supreme President of the Sons of Pericles, it is my privilege to welcome you into our family's 88th year. In this upcoming year, the Sons hope to continue working with the entire AHEPA family to promote philanthropy, education, civic responsibility and family and individual excellence.

A major goal for us this year is our National Project, which is twofold: the ALS Association (ALS is commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease) and the Cyprus Children’s Fund. Through the ALS Association we will be improving the lives of ALS patients through services and funding research to treat and possibly cure ALS. Through the Cyprus Children’s Fund we will raise money to support needy Cypriot Children living in the occupied and native areas of Cyprus.

Another major goal for the Sons of Pericles in 2009 – 2010 is to boost our membership numbers. We hope to accomplish this by hosting various events in different parts of the country to promote the Sons and show, rather than simply tell, potential brothers what we are all about. We cannot do this alone however; therefore we continue to reach out to all members of the AHEPA Family to provide us with potential contacts in their local areas where a new Sons of Pericles chapter may be possible.

Other programs that we hope to take to the next level this year are the Mentorship Program and Lifetime Memberships. The Sons will continue with our existing programs such as "Membership Has Its Privileges", scholarships, and holding numerous athletic and cultural events. We also continue to improve and update our website: WWW.SONSOFPERICLES.COM. We encourage everyone to visit frequently to keep up to date with the happenings of the Sons of Pericles.

By following through on these plans we can continue to strengthen and broaden the Sons of Pericles, thus fortifying the foundation of AHEPA for tomorrow and beyond.
