As we all are aware, there are many benefits to being an active member of the Sons of Pericles. One great opportunity is winning the “Membership has it’s Privileges” Contest. Every year the most active chapter gets a prize like no other, an expense budget to travel to the Supreme Convention. What this grand prize entitles is a free hotel stay at the next National Convention!

The past two years, Wyckoff Chapter 317 Patritha has claimed this coveted award and have expressed their gratitude for the trip. Chapter President Arthur Kominos has described the convention as “amazing on so many levels”. Without a doubt, Supreme Conventions are a can’t miss opportunity for all Sons of Pericles and what better way to attend than having it all complimentary!

This year we are introducing a new system to determine the winner of the contest. While the most active chapter will still receive the award we have developed a new way of keeping track of each chapter’s activity. This new creation is our points system. Chapters will receive points for various tasks such as submitting articles to be published on the website, paying dues, hosting all types of events, sending money in for the National Project, and even for participating in the Mr. AHEPA contest, among other things.

The beauty of the new system is that the points guideline will always be available for viewing on our website and we will update the standings of each chapter every two weeks. You will always be able to tell how far along your chapter is compared to other chapters. Now that the National Convention is over, every chapter will begin at 0; the prize is up for grabs. Work your way to the top and we will see you in Miami! Let the games begin gentlemen!
