New York City Greek Independence Parade

Sunday, April 26, 2009

On Sunday, April 26th, 2009, the Sons of Pericles, along with the Order of AHEPA, participated in New York City’s Greek Independence Celebration Parade. The parade was a huge success involving more than 25,000 marchers and over 180,000 on-lookers. The AHEPA float stood out amongst the 50 other floats, as it has in years past and will continue to for years to come. Sons of Pericles throughout the Tri-State area, including Flushing and Brooklyn, NY, Wyckoff and Paramus, NJ, and Waterbury, CT all took part in the event. All who attended immensely enjoyed the celebration of our ancestors’ independence. Distinguished members, including AHEPA Supreme Vice President Nick Karacostas and AHEPA Supreme Secretary John Grossomanides, Jr. marched alongside Sons of Pericles Supreme Vice President Dean Tselepis, and numerous other members of AHEPA, the Daughters of Penelope, the Sons of Pericles, and the Maids of Athena, truly showing the AHEPA Family Spirit.

We look forward to having YOU attend next year.
